Staffing Ratios and Support
Summit Community Center operates on a 1:4 staff ratio (1 staff per 4 members). This is our standard of operations and staff are assigned throughout the center based on member needs for true activity engagement and participation.
“Bring Your Own Independence” - The SCC is not able to provide 1:1 support to it’s members. This includes individual support for self-care, medical, safety, or behavioral reasons.

After Step Two - Our intake team will contact you to complete next steps via your preferred contact method.
Step Three - Complete a Support Screening.
You will be contacted by an SCC staff member to schedule this assessment.
Support Screening’s are completed with an SCC staff member via phone or video call. The purpose of this call is to assess best fit and additional support needs you may have in order to fully engage at the center.
Member support screening:
Members will be assessed on support needs based on the following structure:
“Bring Your Own Independence”: Member requires 1:1 support for safety/behavioral and/or self-care needs (members will be required to bring personal aids to center with them).
Moderate (supervision at center and in community): Member requires staff oversight at all times while at the center and in the community; needs can be met with the 4:1 staffing ratio.
Minimal (independent in the community): Member benefits from staff oversight while engaging in activities within the center however can come and go from the center independently without supervision/support.
Individuals with a recent history of self-injurious, aggressive behaviors, or mental health crisis will be thoroughly screened prior to enrollment in order to ensure safety for all members of our community. If timing is not right, the SCC staff will work with individual and family to determine possible enrollment once behaviors have been effectively supported. Recent records or an ROI with an outside provider may be requested.
Step Four - Create a personalized login for registration.
Once you have completed the member enrollment process, you will be invited to join our online registration platform, Club Automation. Through your personal login (via web browser or mobile app) you will be able to register for clubs, activities, classes, and events.
